周凡夫,知名文化藝術評論人,現為香港藝術發展局評核員、國際基督教優質中學暨小學校董會董事,新域劇團董事,澳門理工學院「音樂鑒賞」課程講師,澳門婆仔屋藝術空間顧問,澳門東亞大學公開學院同學會顧問,澳門藝音兒童合唱團顧問。
周凡夫於一九八四年參與發起組織香港民族音樂學會,並一直擔任執委會委員;九二年又參與組織國際演藝評論家協會(IATC)香港分會,並出任董事十年,現為該會創會專業成員。自一九八二年開始,在香港電台第四台主持多種形式的古典音樂及文化節目。此外,還經常應邀擔任有關音樂文化的專題講座。二零零五年十月獲頒民政事務局局長嘉許獎章,嘉許積極推動文化藝術,表現出色,二零零六年獲香港特區政府委任為西九龍文娛中心表演藝術委員會成員。
周凡夫曾擔任香港《音樂生活》月刊、及香港《音樂與音響》月刊之音樂編輯,台灣《音樂與音響》月刊主筆,並曾出任香港藝術家聯盟執委會委員、香港文化界聯席會議董事、香港藝術發展局藝術顧問。並曾擔任香港雨果製作有限公司總經理,現時則出任顧問。出版著作有《美樂•人生》、《愛與音樂同行—香港管弦樂團30年》、《傅聰組曲》、《音樂香港評論集》、《香港文化藝術評論集》等。
Chow Fan Fu
Chow Fan Fu is currently an arts consultant of Hong Kong Arts Development Council,a professional member of the International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC), a member of the Board of Governors of the International Christian Quality Music Primary & Secondary School(in Hong Kong) and a lecturer of the Music Appreciation Course offered by the Escola Superior De Artes Instituto Politecnico De Macau . He is actively involved in promoting music & curture in Hong Kong , Macau and China, and often gives talks on music & culture.
Chow is an established arts & culture critic and a columnist writing about music & culture, with papers and articles published in magazines and newspapers in Hong Kong(H K Economic Journal), Macao(Journal Informacao Sonpou), Taiwan, mainland China, Singapore and the United States. Apart from writing critiques on the development of music& culture in Hong Kong, he has also been conducting research on the history of modern Chinese music. His papers covered a wide range of topics, including A Critical Study of Arts and Culture in Hong Kong, A Critical Study of Music in Hong Kong, On the Music Ideology of Wang Guangqi, Xiao Youmei – Father of Contemporary Music Education in China, The Life and Times of Tan Xiaolin, On the Development of Music Education in Hong Kong, The Impact of Technology on Pop Music, The Fu T’song Suite and Music With Love – 30th Anniversary of Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Music.Life,among many others.
Chow was host to classical music programmes on Radio Four of RTHK for a long time since 1982. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors of Prospects Theatre,and a Council Member of the Hong Kong Federation of Cultural Workers. He was one of the founding members of the Hong Kong Ethnomusicology Society in 1984, and has been one of its executive members since.
Chow was Editor in Music for two monthly magazines in Hong Kong, Music & Audiophile and Music & Audiophile,, and an arts programme Assessor under the Arts Development Council. Between 1989 and 1996, he was an Executive Member of the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild, and between 1993 and 1999, a Director of the Hong Kong Cultural Sector Joint Conference.
He was the General Manager of Hugo Productions Limited of Hong Kong between 1993 and 1995, and turned Consultant since 1995. Chow has been Consultant to The Student Association of the Open Institute of East Asia University and Macau Ngai Un Children’s Choir since 2001.
